Vento Safety

Sensing and response systems for physical sites.

We are developing the connection between sensing, location information and staff response. The engineering spans signals, software and the decisions people make on site. A first pilot would test that connection in one area, around one use case.

A site signal reaching an operator who coordinates a response.

Possible pilot scopes

What a first pilot could cover

A first pilot would select one event, one area and one response team. The options below are starting points for scoping; coverage, technology and evaluation measures would be agreed for the selected use case.

Location and check-in

Explore how a pass, wristband or phone could provide a last recorded location or check-in. A pilot would establish coverage, update frequency and who can access the information.

Signals that deserve attention

Test camera or sensor inputs against a defined event. Compare alerts with what actually happened, including missed events and false alarms, under the conditions of the site.

Alerts and response

A pilot could test the complete sequence: a signal is recorded with its location and time, the responsible member of staff acknowledges it, and the outcome is recorded after investigation. Evaluate missed signals and delays across that sequence.

Equipment monitoring

Explore monitoring around one equipment condition or fault pattern. Establish which signal is useful, when staff should investigate and what action follows.

Exploration

The approach

How a pilot runs

A proposed first stage would establish a pilot scope, a test plan and the evidence needed to decide what comes next. The workflow should fit existing site procedures and responsibilities.

01

Define the pilot

Choose one area, event and response team. Map the available inputs, participation requirements and decisions the system would support.

02

Test the whole response

Evaluate coverage, missed events, false alarms and acknowledgement time. Include missing or uncertain signals in the test plan.

03

Review the findings

Compare observations with the agreed measures. Identify what needs to change and whether a further trial is justified.

Data & participation

Who sees site data, and for how long

Define how people participate, who can view site data and how long it is retained. Deployment and access should reflect the setting and the needs of its operators.
